Northwest Bergen County is comprised of 13 individual
municipalities. Each is unique in it's own way, yet throughout all of them is reflected a similar
pride of ownership, fine quality of homes, and high standard of living.
Allendale
The
distinction of Allendale is its likeness to a New England "small town" in the traditional character of its homes and the pride of ownership evident
on every well maintained street. There is a versatility among its residents that is expressed in a wide range
of clubs and organizations for all ages, recreation parks, and
school activities. This picturesque community boasts 70-acre Crestwood Park, a recreational area
with a 9-acre sand-bottom lake, sandy beaches, pine grove, ballfield,
and a wooded wonderland for nature lovers. A second park has additional ballfields and tennis courts . . . there is something
for everyone. Its highly rated schools are centrally located and within easy reach of all
in this small 2.8 square mile community. Northern Highlands Regional High School, with its 50-acre campus adjacent to
Crestwood Park, serves as an active cultural and community center.

Franklin
Lakes
Quiet
country living is the hallmark of this lovely community. Most of its one acre building lots are substantially wooded, and many are situated
on or near the shores of the 21 magnificent lakes that grace it's
countryside. Full recreational and social programs offer each and every family a wide choice
of participation in community affairs. There are also a semi-private golf and country club, two exceptionally beautiful
private communities which offer club plan memberships, and the
famous Audubon Wildlife Center. Neighborhood stores plus two large shopping centers provide quick and easy shopping
for the town's residents. Six public schools, including Ramapo Regional High School, provide the most
up-to-date curriculums. Minutes from major highways and New York City, Franklin Lakes provides the best
of many worlds.

Glen Rock
Often
described as a community-minded, youth-oriented town. Glen Rock is a friendly place with much of the traditional remaining in the
beautiful homes and in the spirit of its people.The large town
swimming pool, acres of recreational facilities, many tennis courts,
and an ice skating pond, all offer residents virtually year round
pleasurable activity.Four elementary schools, a parochial school,
and the junior/senior high school provide students with an outstanding
educational system. Each year, Glen Rock hosts a full day of activities for the Fourth of July. Parades, floats, marching bands, and picnics comprise an eagerly awaited and
widely publicized annual event. The centrally located shopping district offers an extensive variety of convenience
and specialty stores within easy walking distance of most homes. There are over 45 special and civic organizations actively supported by the
townspeople. In addition, Glen Rock has an excellent free public library. Less than an hour by train or bus to mid-town Manhattan, Glen Rock residents
take advantage of comfortable and quick commuting.

Ho-Ho-Kus
This
fascinating community offers the ultimate in diverse architectural
design - Tudors, cottages, ranches, split levels, colonials, and
luxurious mansions set on beautifully landscaped grounds. It is a small community with an involved citizenry. From the Memorial Day activities to the well organized recreational programs,
Ho-Ho-Kus people participate. Respectful of its colonial heritage, Ho-Ho-Kus claims the distinction of being
one of the oldest communities in New Jersey. There is an elementary school which operates through the eighth grade. Secondary students complete their education partnership with a nearby, highly
rated, high school. St. Luke's which is an outstanding parochial school, serves students through
the eighth grade. Accessibility to shopping and easy commuting add to the pleasure of being a
Ho-Ho-Kus resident.

Mahwah
Blessed
with magnificent mountains, gently rolling hills and sloping valleys,
Mahwah is in a lovely, natural setting. Broad, tree-lined streets and consistently attractive homes attest to astute
planning by local government. Mahwah, being the largest township in Bergen County, serves also as the host
of many sporting activities. A thousand acres have been set aside by the Bergen County Park Commission for
horseback riding, hiking, camping, archery, and skiing. The Darlington County Park in Mahwah offers swimming, boating, fishing and tennis. There are municipal baseball fields, tennis courts, and playgrounds to complete
a well-planned recreational program. And for the avid golfer, there is a superb, private 18-hole championship golf
course and country club plus a challenging county golf course. Because of its favorable tax rates, Mahwah has been able to develop an excellent
school system. It has five elementary schools and a campus style high school which is situated
on a sixty-acre tract. Mahwah, while acknowledging of its long history, is a youthful community of
families who enjoy helping their town grow.

Midland
Park
Originally
settled by the Dutch, this fine moderately priced community has
many quaint old colonial homes. It is within a short distance of major highways and within easy commute to New
York City. Midland Park is an involved community of young and old alike, providing year-round
recreational facilities with especially interesting programs for
boys and girls. It offers a broad educational curriculum in its high school, plus an extensive
adult education program. There is an active senior citizens group, a free public library, and a long
list of adult organizations, both social and civic, as well as
eight churches representing man denominations and offering diverse
activities of their own. Midland Park . . . a proud town.

Oakland
Oakland
residents are justifiably pleased with their excellent athletic
and social programs for both adults and children, as they enjoy
some of the finest and most extensive facilities in the area. There are nine tennis courts, ten baseball fields, a football field, plus several soccer fields. Four public swimming beaches as well as many privately owned and operated beaches
are available to residents. The Ramapo Mountain Lakes Country Club is maintained for the exclusive use of
Oakland residents. The club offers catering facilities, tennis courts, a swimming area, and is
often the scene of community gatherings. Superior educational benefits are afforded by four elementary schools, two parochial
schools, and Indian Hills High School. Whatever one's preference, Oakland can provide a resource of enjoyment for the
entire family.

Ramsey
This
attractive community has an appearance of pastoral serenity, yet
is vital and modern in every respect. Splendid recreational facilities such as swimming, tennis, junior football, soccer,
and baseball for both boys and girls form a cornerstone of this
fine community. The Ramsey Golf and Country Club provides year-round family fun and sociability
for its resident members. The more newly developed west side of
this town has a section of ultra-contemporary homes which are delightfully
in concert with the sophistication of the more traditional luxury
homes. Ramsey's school system, which includes a four year high
school system, does and outstanding job of preparing its youth
for future endeavors.

Ridgewood

residents the maximum in town facilities. Whether it's for the outstanding recreational facilities, the adult programs,

amenities, Ridgewood stands as a model of success. Graydon Pool, the municipal swimming and summer activities complex, has a large
shaded pool and full facilities for picnicking and outings. The adjacent twelve acre Veteran's Park offers a broad expanse of grass for

many tennis courts within short walking distance of town. Ridgewood's excellent school system includes nine public schools, an outstanding

Upper

Waldwick
Waldwick
is a small wholesome community with an abundance of young families
and children. Blessed with a lovely 32 acre park and lake, residents can enjoy boating, fishing,
or just a peaceful stroll in the woods. An active recreational department provides year-round fun for the entire family. Concerts by the fire department band, soccer, basketball, football, baseball,
swimming at the municipal pool, Women's Club, scouting programs,
and other civic organizations are all available. There is also a well-staffed summer program that utilizes all three owned parks. The educational opportunity afforded Waldwick students is outstanding, including
Special Learning classes provided within the school system. Waldwick's progressive educational programs include art, music, and language
skills in the lower grades, as well as challenging science and
mathematics courses through high school. Waldwick has a fine public library conveniently located in the town proper. Local stores provide diverse shopping. Waldwick is excellent for commuting to New York City by bus, car pool or train.

Wyckoff
Some
of the original atmosphere of its rural heritage has been preserved
in this peaceful community. Traditional colonial architecture, a scattering of historic farmhouses, generous
size properties, and a large selection of newer homes make Wyckoff
a pleasant community in which to live. There is a total of five public and two parochial schools. High School students attend Ramapo Regional High School. The township's recreational program, provides year-round family activity for
the active family. Soccer, football, baseball, basketball, tennis, plus a full summer program are
all well attended with participation increasing each year. Both children and adults enjoy free facilities at the Wyckoff Memorial Library. Local and nearby shopping provide the neighborhood with diverse selections. Wyckoff residents also enjoy the unique County Wildlife Center, the interesting
historic Zabriskie house and the Zabriskie Pond for winter skating. All of these amenities give Wyckoff residents a high regard for their community.
